PVision presents innovative AI-supported maintenance solutions at Intersolar Europe 2024
Stuttgart, May 2024 – PVision, an up-and-coming start-up from Stuttgart, will be at this year’s Intersolar Europe in Munich. From 19 to 21 June 2024, PVision will be presenting its ground-breaking software for analysing photovoltaic systems at stand C5.370A
Revolutionary maintenance technology for photovoltaic systems
PVision specialises in the development of AI software that enables electricians to efficiently and precisely inspect photovoltaic systems for damage. The innovative solution combines drone technology with artificial intelligence, enabling PV systems to be analysed in real time. This leads to a significant reduction in the time required to identify damage and therefore in maintenance costs.
How it works and advantages
The PVision software uses drones that fly autonomously over the photovoltaic systems and take thermal images. These images are then analysed directly by the AI software. Any damage identified is immediately flagged and recorded in a detailed report that can be accessed via a web application. These reports contain comprehensive analyses of the damage and its financial impact, enabling quick decision-making and efficient repairs.
Successful pilot projects and funding
Since its foundation, PVision has successfully analysed over 60,000 modules and identified numerous defects. One notable example is the inspection of a 1.71 MWp PV system in Bavaria, where 349 modules with anomalies were detected. These inspections have shown that regular maintenance using PVision’s technology can prevent significant energy losses. The use of the analysis software usually pays for itself within a year.
Supported by the EXIST programme of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, PVision was able to develop its innovative business idea to market maturity. The team, consisting of Markus Bäuerlein, Jonas Lackmann and Kai Ritter, has extensive experience in the fields of drone technology, software development and business model development.
